The 2026 Formula 1 season resumes at the Miami International Autodrome on May 1-3, with the Miami Grand Prix marking the fourth round of the championship. F1's return comes after a 1-month break, with the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix both canceled earlier this season due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Teams arrive in Florida with more than just four weeks of preparation under their belts. The FIA confirmed a series of regulatory changes ahead of the Miami event, covering ERS deployment, qualifying energy limits, and race start systems. As a direct result, Free Practice 1 has been extended from 60 to 90 minutes, giving drivers and engineers extra time to gather data before the competitive action begins.

Kimi Antonelli heads into the weekend leading the Drivers' Championship, with Mercedes on top of the Constructors' standings, followed by Ferrari and McLaren. With updated regulations in effect, Miami promises to shake up the order that has defined the opening three rounds.
