Isack Hadjar has been disqualified from the 2026 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix qualifying classification after the stewards found his Red Bull car in breach of technical regulations.
According to an official FIA document issued at 07:22 local time on May 3, the floor boards on Hadjar’s Car 6 were found to be protruding outside the reference volume during a post-qualifying inspection. Both the left-hand side and right-hand side floorboards were found to extend 2mm beyond the permitted reference volume RV-FLOOR BOARD, a violation of Article C3.5.5 of the FIA F1 Regulations.

Red Bull did not dispute the Technical Delegate's findings. The team’s representatives acknowledged that the floor boards were protruding as described, and with the infringement confirmed and admitted, the stewards applied the standard consequences that follow a technical regulation violation of this nature.
What It Means for Isack Hadjar
The disqualification is a significant blow for Hadjar, who had shown strong pace through the Miami Grand Prix weekend. Being removed from the qualifying classification means he will be required to start Sunday’s Grand Prix from the back of the grid, a costly outcome at a circuit where track position plays a crucial role.

For Red Bull, it is an unwelcome development at a venue where the team will be looking to close the gap on Mercedes and Ferrari at the top of the championship standings.
2026 Miami Grand Prix: Provisional Starting Grid
With Hadjar removed from the qualifying classification, the drivers behind him on the grid each move up one position. Kimi Antonelli claimed pole position for Mercedes with a time of 1:27.798, setting the fastest lap of the session at 221.909 km/h. Max Verstappen lines up alongside him in P2 for Red Bull, with Charles Leclerc starting third for Ferrari. Hadjar, who had qualified ninth, will now drop to the back of the 22-car grid for Sunday’s race, with all drivers from P10 onwards moving up one place as a result of the disqualification.
Fernando Alonso now starts at P17 and Lance Stroll P18, with both Aston Martin drivers having already required stewards’ permission to participate in the sprint race after a difficult session earlier in the weekend. Gabriel Bortoleto lines up at the back in P21 for Audi, with Hadjar starting behind him following his disqualification.
