Argentina's squad includes many players who won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and one of those players is center back Lisandro Martínez.
Unlike in the 2022 World Cup, Martinez is now a starter for the Argentina backline, and he started in five out of Argentina's six matches in the 2026 World Cup. He scored a goal and provided an assist in Argentina's 3-2 win over Cape Verde in the Round of 32.
Martinez played in Argentina's previous match against Switzerland in the quarterfinals of the World Cup this summer.
