Antonela Roccuzzo has been with Lionel Messi for most of his life, but the Argentine has also developed her own identity outside of her husband’s massive soccer career.
Born in Rosario in 1988, Roccuzzo knew Messi from childhood.
The two reunited as teenagers, and together they moved to Spain and got married in their hometown in 2017. They have three sons, Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro. The family moved to Miami in 2023 following Messi’s decision to join Inter Miami.
Antonela Roccuzzo’s Career and Life Away From Messi
Roccuzzo started her studies in humanities and social sciences at the National University of Rosario and then went on to postgraduate studies in dentistry. Her relationship with Messi became serious, and she eventually dropped out of school and moved to Barcelona.

Since then, she has developed a career in fashion, beauty, and business. She has collaborated with brands such as Adidas, Tiffany & Co., Alo Yoga, Lancome and Anastasia Beverly Hills. She has also had a hand in children’s fashion with her business venture Enfans.
Roccuzzo has a private persona, despite having over 40 million followers on Instagram. That changed at times when she directly responded to online claims involving her husband. She responded to speculation that Messi had facial plastic surgery in June 2026, saying: “You didn’t get a single thing right!” She added that Messi had “never had surgery” and explained that his dental changes were due to Invisalign.
What Happened Between Antonela Roccuzzo and Suzy Cortez?
Brazilian model Suzy Cortez is one of the most recurring topics that have been raised about Roccuzzo. In 2016, it was reported that Cortez had been blocked by both Messi and Roccuzzo on Instagram for posting provocative content with Messi. Cortez spoke about the blocking at the time, but much of the story has been told by her and not by Roccuzzo.
The incident was brought up again in 2026 when Cortez alleged she was barred from attending an Inter Miami MLS Cup final and connected the story to Roccuzzo. “It made me feel humiliated,” she said, claiming she was blocked on several platforms. The claims have been reported as allegations and have not been confirmed.
Now Messi is playing his final match with Argentina against Benin. Roccuzzo will be by his side in Rosario as she always has.
Roccuzzo has been one of the most familiar names in Messi’s entourage and has been building a professional profile of her own.
