Former WWE superstar Torrie Wilson isn't afraid to fire back at her critics, that's for sure.
Wilson, a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, became a household name in the wrestling industry in the early 2000s. Despite never winning the WWE Women's Championship, she had incredible rivalries with Stacy Keibler, Trish Stratus, Mickie James, Sable and Melina
Even though Wilson was considered a fan favorite in the WWE, she has dealt with some criticism over the years due to her social media content.
Well, Wilson made it clear that she's not going to apologize for "celebrating" her body. She posted a swimsuit photo online along with an emphatic message.
"We live in a time where we’re finally celebrating people of every shape, size, age, and background—and I love that. So why should anyone be shamed for celebrating the body they’ve spent decades caring for? Thirty-seven years of lifting weights, running stairs, choosing protein over junk more times than I can count, showing up even when I didn’t feel like it… all of that has led me to a confident 51-year-old woman," Wilson wrote on Instagram.
"I’m not celebrating perfection. I’m celebrating discipline, consistency, health, and feeling at home in my own skin. And I refuse to apologize for that anymore."
Is Torrie Wilson officially done with the WWE?
Wilson hasn't competed in a wrestling match in over five years, she claims she'd be willing to return to the ring.
“I feel like if you’ve ever been in wrestling, the door is never completely closed,” Wilson said. “People ask me a lot like, ‘Do you have another match in you?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes, of course.’ If something awesome came along, how would I not have that in me? It would take a lot more preparing on my end because I wouldn’t want to go back and do something like that didn’t make people go, ‘Oh, wow. She is an athlete.’ I would want to make myself proud. But at the same time, I like golfing, playing tennis, and working out, and my back issues are not going away anytime soon.”
Who knows? Maybe we'll see Wilson return to the WWE in the coming months.
