Shotzi Blackheart received an unexpected response from AEW star Nyla Rose after paying tribute to Tim Curry on social media.
The former WWE star posted on X on August 26 following news of Curry’s death at 80. The actor, best known for “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” “It,” and “Clue,” died peacefully at his Los Angeles home after being in ill health for some time.
Shotzi’s post also referenced Dolly Parton, who died at 80 the previous day.
“First my fav country singer/motivational woman. Now my favorite character actor 😭 💔 RIP TIM CURRY,” wrote Shotzi Blackheart.
Former AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose then jumped into the replies with a message that had nothing to do with Curry’s acting career but everything to do with a long-running joke surrounding Shotzi.
“Please don’t like me in any capacity 🙏🏾🙏🏾.”
The 34-year-old star then responded to the bizarre comment with a one-word message:
“Uhoh!”
The joke comes from what wrestling fans have dubbed the “Shotzi Curse.” The running gag suggests that when Shotzi publicly declares her admiration for a celebrity, something unfortunate seems to happen to that person soon afterward.
Rose’s reply was clearly playing into that joke rather than making light of Curry’s death. By asking Shotzi not to like her, the AEW star was essentially joking that she did not want to become the next victim of the supposed curse.
Shotzi’s MLW Run Continues After WWE Departure

On May 3, 2025, Shotzi departed WWE after her contract expired, ending her six-year run with the company. Her exit also effectively ended the alliance she had formed with Izzi Dame and Gigi Dolin, with Dolin having been released one day earlier.
Shotzi had spent much of her WWE tenure moving between NXT and the main roster. She became a regular presence on WWE television and won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Ember Moon in 2021.
Following her WWE departure, Shotzi returned to the independent wrestling scene as she continued looking for her next opportunity. That path eventually led her to Major League Wrestling.
She made her MLW debut on June 26, 2025, at Summer of the Beasts and quickly entered the women’s title picture. Shotzi Blackheart defeated Shoko Nakajima earlier this year to win the MLW World Women’s Championship, capturing her first championship in the promotion.
The victory marked a fresh chapter for Shotzi after six years in WWE. She now enters a new phase of her career as an MLW champion while continuing to work outside the promotion.
