Ex-Michigan Coach Sherrone Moore Facing Horrifying Accusation

by The Spun

Former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore is once again facing disturbing allegations.

Michigan shocked the college football world on Dec. 10, 2025 by firing Moore. It was later revealed that he was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. The situation took an ugly turn when Moore was later arrested and charged with third-degree home invasion, stalking, and breaking and entering.

Even though Moore is no longer affiliated with Michigan's program, he's back in the headlines this February.

It was reported Friday that former Michigan assistant coach LaTroy Lewis has been accused of raping a woman he met on a dating app. This alleged incident occurred on Dec. 5, 2024. The woman's attorney, Karen Truszkowski, told ESPN that Moore allegedly played a role in this disturbing situation.

According to Truszkowski, the woman informed Moore about this incident since he was the head coach of the Wolverines at that time. Apparently, Moore refused to report this incident and ultimately "weaponized" it against the woman.

Truszkowski also said Moore sent the woman "lewd and sexually charged" text messages after this alleged incident occurred.

Sherrone Moore's legal team addresses these claims.

Moore's attorney, Ellen Michaels, has already denied the latest allegations.

"Sherrone Moore did not fail to report misconduct, did not reward wrongdoing and did not harass anyone," Michaels told ESPN. "These claims are false."

Michigan's assistant vice president of public affairs, meanwhile, has issued a statement on the allegations involving two former coaches.

“These allegations are deeply concerning. As we have noted, the University launched an investigation of the circumstances and conduct leading to Sherrone Moore’s firing, as well as a broader culture review of the Athletic Department,” Paul Corliss said in a statement shared with the Detroit Free Press. “We continue to urge anyone with relevant information to reach out to the law firm conducting the investigation at umconcerns@jenner.com. The work is ongoing, and we will be able to share more when it is completed.”

Lewis is currently being investigated by the Ann Arbor Police Department.
