New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo shed some light on his relationship with teammate Jaxson Dart.
The incoming second-year running back recently appeared on “The Rich Eisen Show” and discussed several topics about the upcoming season. Among them was his relationship with Giants teammate Dart, who has become one of his closest friends on the roster.
Skattebo described him as being like a brother to him, who’s very passionate about the sport.
“He’s like the evil stepbrother that never answers his phone, and he obviously cares about you, cares about me a lot, but he loves football so much,” Skattebo said.
Skattebo also shared how dedicated Dart is to his craft.
“There’s nothing that’s going to get in his way from film study or talking to coaches about something he could be doing on the field,” Skattebo added. “And he’s a player that inspires me every day to be better.”
Skattebo was limited to just eight games last season after he suffered a severe right leg injury. This prematurely ended his first year in the league. The former Arizona State star finished his rookie campaign with 410 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Skattebo also logged 24 catches for 207 receiving yards and two TDs.
But now that he’s fully healthy, he and Dart are looking to improve on their 4-13 record last season, when they finished dead last in the NFC East.
The Giants will open their NFL season on Sept. 13 against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium.
