Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark admitted that her team is exhausted amid their current road trip.
The Fever continued their five-game road trip on Saturday when they traveled to Brooklyn to face the New York Liberty at Barclays Center.
They absorbed their second straight loss, 109-102, following Thursday’s 91-85 loss to the Dallas Wings. During her post-game interview, Clark refused to make excuses.
“There’s no excuses,” she said. “Yeah, our schedule’s tough. And I think we play more back-to-backs than just about anybody in the league. But it is what it is.”
Clark and Co. will be back in action on Saturday. They will face the Chicago Sky on the road in the second night of a back-to-back set. The three-time All-Star is keeping her head up ahead of the matchup.
“Chicago’s playing really good basketball,” she continued. “I think for us, you have to look at it in a positive way. We’re coming off of a loss. It’s a great opportunity for us to go and finish this road trip with a win. That’s how I see it.”

Clark admitted that fatigue is a factor not only for herself, but for the entire Fever squad. However, she sent a strong message on how she believes her team should face this challenge.
“Yeah, everybody’s tired,” Clark acknowledged. “Everybody’s sore. Who cares? Figure out a way to make yourself feel better and suit up and go play.”
Despite the setback, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year winner finished the game with 21 points, four rebounds and seven assists that set their team’s offense.
Aside from Clark, other Fever players who finished with double-digit scores are Kelsey Mitchell with 25 points, Aliyah Boston with 22 points, Makayla Timpson with 10 points and Sophie Cunningham with 10 points.
Indiana dropped to 24-14 after Saturday’s loss but remains the No. 5 seed in the league standings with six games remaining. The Fever clinched a spot in the playoffs on Friday.
Clark and Co. will conclude their road trip on Sunday, traveling to Illinois to visit the Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena.
It’s going to be the first meeting between the Fever and the Sky since that heated moment between Cunningham and DiJonai Carrington that resulted in a Flagrant Foul 2 for the latter.
Carrington tried to contest Cunningham’s breakaway layup, but she hit her across the face, which turned up the emotions in the game.
Since then, Carrington has hinted that she’s looking forward to the rematch.
