The Seattle Seahawks are coming to Mile High as the popular pick, and that includes some of the people who cover the Denver Broncos for a living. Four of five writers on The Denver Gazette’s panel picked Seattle to win Thursday night. Nationally, very few have gone the other way.
Seattle is a 2.5-point road favorite, and the total is down to 40.5. The experts and the oddsmakers both expect a low-scoring game.

Seahawks, 4-1
Kyle Fredrickson has the most lopsided pick of anyone, Seattle 28-6. “It’s eventually going to catch up with play-caller Sean Payton in a reality check loss for the Broncos,” he wrote of Denver’s offense. Paul Klee has it 26-12, Chris Tomasson 23-16 and Mark Kiszla 20-16. Tomasson couldn’t resist a nod to the training camp video story, writing that “the Seahawks won’t need any videos from Broncos Park to help them in this prime-time battle.”
Chris Schmaedeke is the lone Broncos pick, 19-16, and he pointed to Seattle’s turnovers.

Seahawks, 5-0
Jared Dubin has Seattle winning 24-16. “I cannot rightly expect the Broncos to get anything going against this hellacious Seattle defense,” he wrote. Jordan Dajani took the Seahawks 23-20 and noted that Seattle has won five straight games following a loss.
John Breech has the widest margin of the CBS group at 27-17 and said he nearly predicted a blowout. Pete Prisco picked Seattle 23-17, and Tyler Sullivan went with 24-19. “Bo Nix has to pick it up, but this is a tough defense to try and fix things,” Prisco wrote.

Peter Dewey: Seahawks 20-16
Dewey likes Seattle to cover in a low-scoring game, and he pointed to how the Seahawks have handled trips under their head coach. “Plus, the Seahawks are elite on the road in the Mike Macdonald era, covering 13 of 19 games,” he wrote.
Covers and FanSided
Seahawks -2.5
Covers’ Joe Osborne made Seattle his top pick for the game. He noted that Seattle’s defense leads the NFL in yards allowed per play and “has kept every opposing QB below the 200-yard mark” this season. FanSided’s Cody Williams also took the Seahawks straight up and against the spread.
Almost none of these picks lean on Seattle’s offense, which has drawn criticism for its first-down calls and ranks 31st on third down. They trust a defense that has allowed the fewest yards in the NFL against a Denver offense that ranks 30th. Macdonald isn’t treating it as a given. “They’re a tough team,” he said of Denver this week. Kickoff is 5:15 p.m. PT on Prime Video.
