In case it wasn’t clear enough, ESPN plans on utilizing Pat McAfee and his platform this upcoming NFL season.
On Wednesday, ESPN announced that McAfee is joining the “Monday Night Countdown” crew. He’ll get to work with Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce, former NFL players Jason McCourty and Marcus Spears, and longtime “SportsCenter” anchor Scott Van Pelt.
“Monday Night Countdown returns as the two-hour Monday Night Football pregame show (6–8 p.m., ESPN), and for the first time, will be available on NFL Network this season,” ESPN said in a press release. “Host Scott Van Pelt is back alongside returning analysts Kelce and Marcus Spears, with new additions Pat McAfee and Jason McCourty. Additionally, Warner will periodically join Monday Night Countdown on-site for select segments throughout the season.”

Apparently, “Monday Night Countdown” isn’t the only new addition to McAfee’s schedule with ESPN.
According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, the plan is for ESPN to give McAfee and his crew an alt-cast for “Monday Night Football.” This telecast would most likely be on-air during the weeks that Eli and Peyton’s “Manningcast” is off.

There were already countless fans complaining about McAfee being overexposed on ESPN, so this Thursday’s report won’t exactly cool down the temperature in the room.
“What’s the obsession with McAfee,” one fan commented.
“Oh good more McAfee,” a second fan sarcastically replied.
“I like Pat Mcafee but I feel like ESPN is forcing him on us,” a third fan wrote.
“Y’all seriously are turning this into Entertainment Stephen Pat Network,” another person said.
It was reported earlier this year that McAfee will make $60 million per year from ESPN. If that’s true, the network is clearly going to get its money’s worth.
