Longtime ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe is facing backlash for a podcast appearance she did at the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Final Four.
Rowe, 59, appeared on the "Show Me Something" podcast with WNBA guard Sophie Cunningham and "Summer House" star West Wilson. Rowe was one of two notable guests for the podcast at the Final Four in Phoenix. Allison Feaster, a former WNBA guard and current VP of Team Operations & Organizational Growth for the Boston Celtics, also joined the show.
The podcast officially announced their appearances on Sunday evening. The new podcast drops on Monday, April 6.
"March is when LEGENDS are born and we had a few join us in Phoenix. New episode with Holly Rowe and Allison Feaster drops MONDAY and you won’t want to miss it 🍿," the podcast announced.
But this is not an ideal time to be appearing on a podcast co-hosted by Wilson, the now-infamous "Summer House" star.
Why?
Well, for those who don't follow reality TV, Wilson is currently embroiled in controversy. He is dating his co-star's ex-wife, Amanda Batula. Wilson and Batula confirmed their relationship in an Instagram post last week. It's controversial because Batula was previously married to "Summer House" star Kyle Cooke. She is also great friends with fellow "Summer House" star Ciara Miller, who previously had a relationship with Wilson.
It's all very messy.
Wilson has been taking heat from just about everyone on social media, including Cooke.
“I have a real issue with a dude who manages to use his charm, says the right thing at the right time,” Kyle explained to Adam Glyn. “West kinda positioned himself, very conveniently, to be this knight in shining armor for women, standing up for Amanda, checking me. I was like, ‘something’s up.’”
Kyle confirmed that West “basically threw his friendship away with me in one clean swoop. What happened to bro code?”
Fans have been taking sides, with just about everyone siding with Cooke, Miller and the rest of the "Summer House" crew over Wilson and Batula.
Now, Rowe is facing heat for her appearance on Wilson's podcast
While it's tough to blame Rowe for simply making a podcast appearance where she discussed basketball, fans are putting her on "the wrong side of history."
"Hard no to this pod," one fan wrote.
"Never thought I’d see Holly Rowe on the wrong side of history 😪," one fan added.
"No West he needs to be canceled why is Amanda the only one being canceled 😠," one fan added.
"Unfollowing 😂," one fan added.
Fans did notice in the photo that Rowe didn't appear to be touching West. Perhaps she was sending a sign to her Bravo fans.
"Holly not touching him, I love that," one fan added.
Others are pushing Rowe to "run" like she did at the Final Four to an interview with Ciara Miller instead.
"Holly Rowe should run the way she did for an interview with Ciara," another fan pointed out.
Perhaps they'll address it all on today's podcast. It'll be out later on Monday.
