ESPN anchor and sideline reporter Alyssa Lang is expected to take on a new role for the 2026 college football season.
Lang, a University of South Carolina graduate, joined ESPN and SEC Network in the summer of 2018. She's been one of the hosts of "SEC Now" for the past few years, working alongside Peter Burns and Dari Nowkhah. Prior to joining the Worldwide Leader in Sports, she worked with First Coast News in Jacksonville and WLTX in Columbia.
So what's next for Lang? According to Matt Connolly of AL.com, Lang could replace Matt Barrie as the host of ESPN’s college football studio wrap-arounds in Bristol. If so, she'll handle those duties on Fridays and Saturdays.
Even though Lang hasn't confirmed the news, she teased that she'll be taking on a new role soon.
"Still going to be working CFB Saturdays! Just in a different role. Will share more soon," Lang wrote on X.

What about Matt Barrie?
It's already been reported that Matt Barrie will take over for Laura Rutledge as the host of "SEC Nation." She had such a great run that she recently received praise from Georgia coach Kirby Smart.
“I’d like to start off with Laura Rutledge, I found out this morning, she’s going to be moving on, away from her SEC duties. I have a lot of respect for her, I feel like she and I have been in the SEC the same amount of time,” Smart said, via DawgNation. “With the tenure I’ve had and the tenure she’s had, she’s a good friend, and a lot of respect for the work she’s done. So, appreciate her service and wish her nothing but the best moving on.”
One thing that won't change for ESPN is that Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will continue to call prime-time games this fall.
