Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman joined "College GameDay" to close out the 2025 college football season on Monday.
He was on set to help preview Monday's national championship game between Miami and Indiana, and picked Miami to win right before the game started. Desmond Howard and Nick Saban also took Miami to win, while Pat McAfee took Indiana.
Freeman also analyzed the first half and how Indiana jumped out to a 10-0 lead over Miami. While some fans liked how the Notre Dame head coach broke everything down, many others didn't and took to X to share their thoughts.
"Marcus Freeman refusing a bowl but yapping at halftime of the National Championship game is DISGRACEFUL work from ESPN, this is REPULSIVE," one fan posted.
Marcus Freeman shouldn’t be allowed on the College Gameday broadcast. Notre Dame opted out of postseason. Why should the ND brand benefit from him being on natl championship pregame??" another fan posted.
"Every time I think @espn can’t do anything else to make me hate them, they find something new. Having Marcus Freeman on the set tonight is simply pathetic," another post read.
"It’s wrong that Marcus Freeman gets to be on the ESPN desk, by the way," another post read.
Freeman led Notre Dame to a 10-2 record this year and just missed out on a College Football Playoff berth. He has been the head coach for the last four full seasons, compiling a 43-12 overall record, including the Fiesta Bowl loss when he took over at the end of the 2020 season.
