Ole Miss football held off Louisville, 41-38, in an exciting Week 1 college football game on Sunday evening.
The Rebels, who lost head coach Lane Kiffin to LSU during the offseason, are hoping to contend for a College Football Playoff berth in their new era. Ole Miss got off to a good start on Sunday night, taking down a good Louisville team. The Rebels opened the season with an impressive victory, starting off the year at 1-0, while the Cardinals dropped to a disappointing 0-1.
Late in the game, during a tense moment, ESPN’s cameraman found a stressed-out Ole Miss fan in the crowd. The Ole Miss fan quickly went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday evening.
The cameraman decided to zoom in on the young Ole Miss Rebels fan on Sunday night, catching fire on social media.
“The cameraman at the Ole Miss – Louisville game understood the assignment. Bro zoomed in. I’M CRYING 😂,” one fan wrote.
“Understood the assignment is funny until you remember somebody’s family is watching the feed,” one fan joked.
“The man deserves a raise and a producer credit,” one fan added.
“She should’ve been cast in The Odyssey,” one fan added.
Ole Miss has a lot of support, but it was one fan in particular who shined on Sunday evening, as many took to social media to react to the viral moment between the Rebels and the Cardinals.
Week 1 of the 2026 college football regular season will continue on Labor Day evening, before we turn the page toward Week 2.
