Angel Reese’s ESPN player ranking jumped from 14th to 11th ahead of the WNBA playoffs on Sunday.
ESPN released its updated rankings, rating players from the eight teams that are heading into the postseason. Reese was ranked 14th in ESPN’s August rankings, but she has now risen three spots after her strong play in the final stretch of the regular season.
The third-year player out of LSU was named the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for a third straight week on Friday.
Reese led Atlanta to four straight wins to close out the regular season. During this stretch, she averaged 19.3 points on 60.4% shooting, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals.
The 24-year-old is also coming off a successful Team USA stint in the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. She posted 7.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals across six games. Reese was a key piece off the bench for the national team as they secured a fifth straight World Cup gold medal.
The three-time All-Star will now play in her first WNBA postseason after missing the playoffs in her first two seasons with the Chicago Sky.
Reese and the Dream enter the postseason as the No. 4 seed and with home-court advantage in the first round. They will face the No. 5 seed Washington Mystics. Atlanta lost its regular-season series to Washington, 2-1.
Aside from Reese, the Dream will rely on key players Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray and Jordin Canada, to name a few. Game 1 of the first-round series is on Sunday, with tipoff from State Farm Arena scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
