ESPN college baseball announcer Ben McDonald is one of the best in the game.

McDonald, a former standout pitcher for the LSU Tigers, also serves as an in-game analyst for the Baltimore Orioles. Over the weekend, during the Orioles vs. Phillies series, the longtime baseball announcer made quite the admission.

He says he's "never" used shampoo.

The Orioles are struggling this year, likely to miss the playoffs and trade off several key pieces, so shampoo talk stole the show during the weekend's series.

McDonald informed Orioles play-by-play man Kevin Brown that he's never used shampoo or any hair product.

“You think you use the same amount of product in your hair as Brandon Marsh does?” Brown asked as Marsh, who has long brown hair, stepped up to the plate.

“No way,” McDonald replied. “For me, it’s just a bar of soap.”

“A bar of soap?” Brown said while laughing.

“Yeah,” McDonald said. “I’ve never used shampoo. Not once. Ever. Just a bar of soap in the hair.”

“You have never used shampoo?” Brown asked.

“Never,” McDonald responded.

"In your life?" Brown asked again?

“Never,” McDonald stated.

“Not when you were a kid?” an astounded Brown replied.

“No. Just a bar of soap in the shower. That’s all I need,” McDonald explained.

MLB fans are pretty stunned

"I guess I can respect the efficiency, but a literal bar of soap for hair is simply deranged. We are in the future now," one shared.

"I tried that in basic training 30 years ago and it dried my scalp out horribly. For that reason I am calling (BS) on this statement," one added.

"Cut out 5 products for the same thing, keep a lot more of that $$$. Think I'd get dandruff tho. I don't however use fabric softener or Bounce sheets," one fan added.

"I mean if he uses a decent amount it’s still soap. It’s the same stuff," one shared.
