Erin Andrews is pushing for more and more women to get involved with football.
The veteran NFL sideline reporter is excited as the 2026 regular season is getting ready to start. The Seahawks and the Patriots will kick things off on Wednesday evening, in the first game of the year. The Rams and the 49ers will play on Thursday, followed by a full slate of games on Sunday, and the Chiefs vs. Broncos on Monday night.
As Andrews and others around the league get ready for kickoff, the veteran NFL sideline reporter is hoping that women everywhere will start to get more credit for their love of the game.

Andrews told Women’s Health that she’s excited to see more and more women getting involved in the game.
“What’s cool about what’s going on in the NFL right now is it’s not just women in front of the camera,” she said. “It’s women behind the camera, whether that be in the production trucks or back in the studio. They are trainers, coaches, position coaches, in the front office, executives. It’s really, really cool as a female to see that happening.”
According to new data from Nielsen Lab, 56 percent of new sports fans are women.
“Listen, women have been around for a long time loving sports,” Andrews added. “It’s amazing, and I think the women that do love sports are so educated. They have to be, right? They don’t want to be intimidated, they want to make sure they can hold conversations with men about sports. Girls are smart.”
Andrews has been a leading voice for women across sports for more than 15 years at this point.
