Renowned sportscaster Erin Andrews explained why she didn’t appear in Taylor Swift’s latest music video.
In a recent episode of her “Calm Down” podcast, the Fox Sports reporter revealed that a previously scheduled hosting commitment prevented her from appearing in Swift’s “Patient Zero” music video.
According to the 48-year-old TV personality, she had already committed to emcee an event in Washington, D.C., on the day of the shoot.
“I get the voice note (from Swift): ‘Hey guys, it’s going to be — and I think to myself, don’t say Tuesday — it’s on Tuesday,’” Andrews recalled.
“On Tuesday, I had committed a year in advance to MC an event. It was a great event. … I go do the event, I leave and we go get sushi. And the next day is the video shoot, and the next day is the speaking engagement. I wake up at 12:30, 12:45 in the morning with the most violent food poisoning I’ve ever had in my life.”
Although she was happy to see her husband, Jarret Stoll, in the final cut of the music video with other sports personalities, she still feels heartbroken about not being able to join.
“I’m so sad,” Andrews added. “Charissa and I are just commiserating together. We’re sending text messages – of course, our boyfriends and our husbands get to do this [and] of course, we’re happy for them, but damn it!”
Andrews’ co-host and good friend Charissa Thompson couldn’t take part in the video either. The Fox Sports broadcaster shared how she underwent intense CO2 laser facial treatment, which left her face swollen and scabbed. Her boyfriend, Steve Cundari, also made a cameo in Swift’s music video.
Both Andrews and Thompson will be covering Week 4 of NFL action for Fox Sports on Sunday. Thompson will host the live pregame coverage on “Fox NFL Kickoff,” while Andrews will be back on the sidelines as part of the broadcast crew for the matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
