Enes Kanter released a statement on social media after getting ejected from Sunday night’s Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever game.
The former NBA forward took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to release a statement on his ejection from the game in Chicago. Kanter was sitting courtside, wearing a black “woman” T-shirt.
“I just got kicked out of a @WNBA game for supporting WOMEN! Let that sink in, AMERICA! 🇺🇸,” he shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Kanter was ejected after appearing to get into it with Sky guard Natasha Cloud. It’s unclear what exactly sparked the incident between the Sky guard and the former NBA player.
Kanter had previously ‘declared’ for the 2027 WNBA Draft
“If simply declaring who you are is all that’s required, then I meet every single requirement necessary to compete in the WNBA. My team and I have carefully examined the WNBA’s eligibility criteria and governing framework surrounding self-identification and inclusion. Based on the current guidelines, I can and am officially declaring my eligibility for the upcoming WNBA draft in April 2027,” he shared on X.
Kanter was met with resistance as he entered the arena in Chicago on Sunday evening, too.
Kanter had previously said that he’ll be the best pick in WNBA history.
“I think I will be the best draft pick in WNBA history, literally,” he said to Fox News.
Kanter says that he wants to expose the WNBA’s loophole.
“So, there’s other major sports that obviously closed that loophole,” he said. “They added ‘biological female’ or ‘born female’ in their collective bargaining. But when I look at them, the WNBA, they didn’t have kind of, you know, reference to biological or anything like that. And all the coaches, I was watching this, and I believe the coach of Minnesota came out with a ‘trans kids belong’ (shirt), so I was like, if no one’s against it and all the coaches are OK with it, think about how much money I can bring, think about all the endorsement deals.”
