But remarks he made back in 2024 about potentially walking away after this tournament are resurfacing just days before kickoff, giving fans another storyline to watch as Argentina begin their title defense.
Back in 2024, Martinez said, “If we were to win back-to-back World Cups, that is where I retire.”
