Eileen Gu is going home with three Winter Olympic medals from Italy.
The 22-year-old Olympic skier won gold in the women's halfpipe on Sunday. It's the third medal of her 2026 Winter Games. Gu previously won two silver medals at the Milan Cortina Games. She previously won two golds and a silver at the Beijing Games.
Gu has won six Olympic medals in six events - she's the first skier, male or female, to do that.
"The reason I love the records so much is that it's not about man or woman," Gu said. "I'm the most decorated freeskier of all time, male or female. ... That's a testament to competitive strength, it's mental strength. It's being able to perform under pressure. It has nothing to (do with) if you're a boy or a girl."

Gu, born in America, chose to represent China in the Winter Olympics. While her decision was a controversial one, what can't be denied is how great of an athlete she is.
"She is unreal," New Zealand's Mischa Thomas said of Gu. "It's pretty crazy how good she is."

Earlier at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Gu was asked, after she won two silver medals, if it felt like two gold medals "lost."
She did not appreciate that.
“I’m the most decorated female freeskier in history, I think that’s answer in and of itself,” she replied.
“How do I say this? Winning a medal at the Olympics is a life-changing experience for every athlete. Doing it five times is exponentially harder because every medal is equally hard for me, but everybody else’s expectations rise, right? And so the ‘two medals lost’ situation to be quite frank with you I think is kind of a ridiculous perspective to take. I’m showcasing my best skiing, I’m doing things that quite literally have never been done before, and so I think that is more than good enough. But thank you.”
Gu is going home 6-for-6 in the medals department - that's very impressive.
