We're still a month away from the start of the NFL season, and yet, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is already being questioned by fans.
Even though Hurts has already won a Super Bowl with the Eagles, it seems like he faces more criticism than any other quarterback in the NFL. With that being said, he received a ton of blame for Philadelphia's offense ranking 19th in scoring (22.3 points per game) during the 2025 season.
According to ESPN’s Tim McManus and Jeremy Fowler, Hurts was unwilling to “diversify” the offensive scheme.
“Though there is plenty of blame to spread, Hurts has had a hand in the offense becoming calcified, according to several team sources who spoke to ESPN on condition of anonymity,” McManus and Fowler wrote. "He has pushed back on changes that would diversify the scheme, sources said, including when it comes to him going under center more. He has shown a reluctance to let it rip at times, particularly against zone coverage. He diverts from the game plan and changes playcalls to what some feel is an excessive degree. His strong preferences, coupled with the coaches’ efforts to play to his strengths, which include his deep ball accuracy and throws to the perimeter, limits the breadth to which the offense can expand — or at least that’s the way it has gone in the past."
If the noise surrounding Hurts wasn't loud enough, the Eagles shared a video of him getting picked off at practice. That led to a ton of chatter on social media.

"I don’t think I’ve ever seen an NFL team’s social media account just firing up clips of their own QB getting picked off," NFL insider Benjamin Allbright said.
"Putting your starting QB on blast when there are already rumblings he cant use the middle of the field is a choice," sports betting expert Todd Fuhrman wrote.
"Posting your qb1 interceptions is wild ngl," one fan commented.
"Even as a Cowboys fan, I have to ask you what's wrong with you? Praising your CBs' performance by roasting your QB? One of the most silly posts by team official accounts," a second fan wrote.
Some good news for Jalen Hurts.
Earlier this week, Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio raved about Hurts' speed at training camp.
"I think Jalen's having a good camp. I think he looks faster," said Fangio. "Obviously we can't touch him during practice so there's always that debate whether you had him or not [for a sack] and I think there's been a few times where our guys think they had him and they really didn't."
Despite what's being said online, throwing an interception to Mitchell doesn't eliminate all the good that Hurts has done in practice. Make no mistake though, he'll be under the spotlight this season.
The Eagles will begin their 2026 campaign on Sept. 13 against the Commanders.
