Dylan Larkin’s trade request has not produced much movement for the Detroit Red Wings for more than a month since he informed the organization.
The Red Wings captain requested a trade at the start of June, but the full no-trade clause included in his eight-year, $69.6 million contract has limited Detroit’s options.
Larkin's original list of preferred destinations included only the Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild and Vegas Golden Knights, but that group didn't bring Detroit closer to a deal with all of Florida, Minnesota and Vegas doing other offseason moves
On Thursday, just one day after the Detroit Free Press’ Helene St. James reported that Larkin had not expanded his trade list, a new development emerged from MLive's Ansar Khan.

Now, Larkin has expanded his list, but only slightly.
According to Khan, Larkin recently added the Dallas Stars to his list of approved destinations. Khan reported that the Red Wings already had talks with Dallas, but the discussions didn't advance much.
“The Red Wings had talks with the Stars and according to a league source asked for young center Wyatt Johnston in return,” Khan wrote. “It doesn’t hurt to ask, but there was no chance of that happening.”
Johnston is coming off a 45-goal, 86-point season and is seven years younger than Larkin. The Red Wings captain, meanwhile, posted 67 points and 34 goals in Detroit last year.
Khan also reported that Dallas sent Detroit a counteroffer involving restricted free agent Jason Robertson, who filed for arbitration on Sunday. As there is no guarantee Robertson would have signed with Detroit, the Red Wings passed on the offer.
On top of that, Khan reported that Detroit isn't looking for a futures-only package, with general manager Steve Yzerman instead wanting NHL-ready players to avoid entering another rebuild.
