On Saturday, August 22, Formula 1 is back at Circuit Zandvoort for a busy day of racing at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix. The weekend will be in the Sprint format with two big F1 sessions on Saturday: the 100km Sprint and qualifying for Sunday’s Dutch Grand Prix.
Importantly, the official Formula 1 timetable states the Sprint will be at 12 p.m. local time and qualifying will be at 4 p.m. CEST.
George Russell will start the Sprint from pole after beating Lando Norris by 0.041 seconds in Friday’s Sprint Qualifying. Charles Leclerc qualified third in front of Oscar Piastri, Kimi Antonelli, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.
What Time Is the Dutch GP Sprint?
The Dutch GP Sprint starts at 12 p.m. CEST on Saturday. The Sprint will be 24 laps or up to 60 minutes long, with the official timing schedule giving 30 minutes for the Sprint.

The Sprint will be especially significant for the top eight finishers, as points will be given to the top eight. Russell thus has a clear chance to narrow the lead to championship leader Kimi Antonelli.

What Else Is Happening on Saturday?
Zandvoort is not just home to Formula 1. The F1 Academy qualifying session will take place at 9:20 a.m. local time, with Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup qualifying at 10:15 a.m. The F1 Sprint then takes center stage at noon before F1 Academy Race 1 at 2:35 p.m. and F1 qualifying at 4 p.m.
With Russell starting the Sprint from pole and Antonelli, Hamilton, Norris, Piastri, Leclerc and Verstappen all chasing crucial points, Saturday could have a major impact on the championship picture before Sunday’s Dutch GP.
