Drake Maye issued his first public comments on the Mike Vrabel, Dianna Russini scandal last week.
He stood by his head coach.
“We’re here for coach, we love coach…we know he’s dealing with some stuff off the field and out of the coaching world but we’re here for him and I know he’s gonna come back," Maye said.
Vrabel, of course, has been embroiled in off-the-field controversy for weeks, as repeated leaks of his past outings with Russini - who has resigned from her post at The Athletic - have leaked online.

But Maye, who is coming off his second season in the National Football League, is continuing to back his head coach.
The former North Carolina Tar Heels star showed major support for his head coach during an interview with the Associated Press on Wednesday evening.
Maye not backing down from his opinion on Vrabel, Russini scandal
Maye made it clear that he believes Vrabel is a "great person."
“No, I don’t. I mean, he’s our head coach. I think he’s done a great job of talking to us and talking us through it. I’m just looking forward to getting back to work and getting ready," he said.
“I know he’s got the right mindset and I know he’s a great human being… like I said, I love playing for him.”
Maye could face backlash for these comments, of course, but he's standing behind his head coach.
