Season 9 of the “Dr Pepper Fansville” promotion is kicking off this week with a new commercial featuring LSU head coach Lane Kiffin.
On Thursday, Dr Pepper dropped a trailer for a new commercial entitled “Illegal Lane Change,” which features “Sheriff” Brian “The Boz” Bosworth pulling Kiffin over on the side of the road outside of a football stadium. Kiffin pulls up the window as Bosworth yells “You can’t keep doing this!” at him.
Check it out:
The clip is an obvious reference to the multiple instances where Kiffin has negotiated his way onto another football team while still under contract, most recently by taking the LSU job while he was still coaching Ole Miss right before the College Football Playoff.
Kiffin’s actions last year made him a pariah among Ole Miss fans and reviled by many other fanbases too. But Kiffin has dismissed all of those criticisms.
Applause for Kiffin
Fans couldn’t help but respect what a troll the LSU coach can be when he just doesn’t care:
“Unfortunately this is extremely funny. It’s Kiffin’s world and we are just living in it,” one user on X remarked.
“Not a Kiffin fan but this is funny,” another admitted.
“Lmaooooooo dear lord The biggest troll on earth,” a third wrote.
“Never liked Lane but this is funny.”
“Unfortunately this is pretty funny.”
“This is gonna go triple platinum if he ever gets a DUI.”

Kiffin enters the 2026 season leading the No. 11 team in the nation into a game against unranked Clemson next week. A mere two weeks later, he will be heading back to Oxford, Mississippi for a game against his former team in what may be the most hate-watched football game in recent memory.
But he will also face big games against College Football Playoff contenders such as Alabama, Texas and Tennessee later in the year.
With all of the drama LSU endured and all of the money they’ve paid Kiffin, missing the College Football Playoff this year is something he just can’t afford.
