Freddie Freeman celebrated a major career milestone on Tuesday night after recording the 2,500th hit of his MLB career during the Los Angeles Dodgers' 12-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The milestone came at PNC Park during one of the Dodgers' biggest innings of the season.
Los Angeles entered the seventh inning in a close game before erupting for 10 runs. Freeman delivered the historic hit when he lined a RBI single that scored rookie Alex Freeland and added another run to the Dodgers' outburst.
The hit moved him to 2,500 career hits and made him the only active major league player to reach that mark. It also added another achievement to a career that already includes an MVP Award, multiple All-Star selections, a World Series title, and several Silver Slugger Awards.
The Dodgers backed Freeman's milestone with one of their strongest offensive performances of the season. Los Angeles finished with 15 hits and scored 12 runs.
The seventh inning completely changed the game after both teams battled through six competitive innings. After the victory, the Dodgers shared Freddie Freeman’s clubhouse message on X as he turned his focus to his teammates.

The veteran first baseman also spoke about the challenges of a long baseball season. He acknowledged the sacrifices players make while spending time away from their families and credited his teammates for making the daily grind easier.

Freeman finished the speech with a smile after referencing manager Dave Roberts' suggestion that he now chase 3,000 career hits. The 36-year-old entered the game hitting above .300 while continuing to rank among the Dodgers' most reliable hitters. He has remained a key part of the lineup since joining Los Angeles before the 2022 season.
Freeman made his debut with the Atlanta Braves in 2010 and quickly developed into one of baseball's most consistent players. He won the National League MVP Award in 2020 and helped Atlanta win the World Series in 2021 before signing with the Dodgers.
Over 17 major league seasons, Freeman has built a résumé that places him among the best hitters of his generation. Along with 2,500 hits, he has accumulated hundreds of doubles, home runs, and RBIs while maintaining one of the strongest batting averages among active players.
