It's fair to say Kirsten Watson will enter the 2026 MLB season as one of the most popular reporters the league has to offer.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have been fortunate enough to have Watson covering them since February 2021. Fans have really enjoyed her work for Spectrum Sportsnet, especially during the team's consecutive World Series runs.
Even though Opening Day isn't until March 25, Watson went viral during the Dodgers' spring training matchup with the Angels. That's because she perfectly executed a no-look fist bump as she was providing a pregame breakdown on Dodgers utility player Santiago Espinal.
"That’s a championship reporter right there,” an MLB fan said.
“Kirsten Watson is the GOAT, we’re lucky to have her,” a Dodgers fan wrote on social media.
This isn't the first time Watson has managed to go viral.
During the 2025 MLB season, Watson had the chance to attend one of her friends' bachelorette parties. She shared a few photos on Instagram that received over 15,000 likes.
"Watching your best friends fall in love & getting to celebrate them >>>. Well that & playing mermaids," she wrote. "Can’t wait to watch you marry the man of your dreams
Watson is a former NFL reporter.
Watson, a Columbia University graduate, made history in 2017 when she became the first female recipient of the ESPN & NABJ Stuart Scott Scholarship.
Before becoming a reporter for the Dodgers, she covered the Los Angeles Rams. She also worked as a sideline reporter for the Los Angeles Sparks.
We'll see if the Dodgers successfully pull off a three-peat this season. All we know for sure is Watson will be in Los Angeles covering every step of their journey.
