The Los Angeles Dodgers are recalling right-handed pitcher Emmet Sheehan from Triple-A Oklahoma City, bringing him back to the major league roster exactly two weeks after his demotion.
Sheehan was sent down after struggling with his command and was given time in the minors to make adjustments. His return comes as the Dodgers manage their pitching staff during their series against the Colorado Rockies.
Los Angeles Times Dodgers beat writer Jack Harris first reported on X that the Dodgers were recalling right-hander Emmet Sheehan from Triple-A Oklahoma City, bringing him back to the major league roster two weeks after he was optioned to the minors.
The Dodgers enter Tuesday with a 75-51 record and a 7.5-game lead over the San Diego Padres in the National League West. They are coming off an 11-5 win over Colorado on Monday night.
Sheehan has struggled through his 2026 campaign, posting a 4-8 record with a 5.29 ERA and 1.29 WHIP across 95.1 innings. He has struck out 108 batters while issuing 29 walks in 20 starts.
The right-hander’s demotion followed an especially difficult stretch. Across his final three major league starts before being optioned, Sheehan recorded a 10.38 ERA while allowing 12 earned runs and five home runs over 10.1 innings.

His return also comes with the Dodgers dealing with another rotation issue. Left-hander Justin Wrobleski was placed on the 15-day injured list with left forearm inflammation, creating a need for additional pitching depth.
Sheehan now returns to a Dodgers club trying to protect its sizable division advantage. After his two-week reset in Oklahoma City, the organization will have an opportunity to see whether the right-hander can translate those adjustments back to the majors.
