The back-to-back World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers could be receiving some more bullpen help this upcoming road trip.
The Dodgers have had a good, but not great bullpen throughout the 2026 season. They currently hold a 3.70 ERA as a unit.
The issue around the Dodgers bullpen has been their injuries with lack of depth.
Los Angeles has 13 pitchers currently on the injured list, with 10 of them residing in the 'pen.
The biggest hit was early in the season with newly signed closer Edwin Díaz going down on the 60-day injured list with loose bodies in his right elbow. He will likely be able to return after the All-Star break.
In good news, the Dodgers are likely to be reinstating right-handed reliever Brock Stewart from the 15-day injured list.
The 34-year-old has been down since May 9 with a bone spur in his left foot.
Stewart pitched on back-to-back days in Single-A Ontario earlier this week and according to David Vessegh of MLB Network, "Brock Stewart said his left foot responded really good after pitching back to back games in Ontario."
With the news of recovery, Stewart will likely be activated to join the major league team during their upcoming nine game road trip.
Stewart was traded to the Dodgers during the 2025 season but only pitched in four games due to injury. He only pitched two games in the 2026 season before headed to the injured list once again.
When healthy, Stewart is one to be feared on the mound. He pitched 43 games between the Minnesota Twins and Dodgers in 2025 to a 2.63 ERA with 44 strikeouts and 16 holds in 37 2/3 innings pitched.
Over his career, he holds a 4.44 ERA in 135 games with 193 strikeouts across 188 2/3 innings.
The journeyman played for the Dodgers from 2016-2019 before having stints with the Toronto Blue Jays and Twins.
Now he is back where he started hoping to make some noise once again.
The Dodgers are already the favorites to win the World Series again, but with a solid bullpen, their may be no one that can stand in their way to a third straight title.
With the rest of the 'pen set to come back later in the season, they should have no trouble.
Stewart will likely make his return this week, after the Dodgers series finale against the Baltimore Orioles.
