The Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to a rare intra-division trade Monday.
As first reported by Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Dodgers acquired right-handed reliever Seth Halvorsen from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for two prospects. Those players were later identified as Nick Frasso and Landyn Vidourek by Sherman’s colleague, Jon Heyman.
Halvorsen, 26, is currently on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation, but he began a rehab assignment Sunday, allowing two hits over a scoreless inning. The Dodgers reportedly plan to assign him to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
A seventh-round pick in 2023, Halvorsen made his MLB debut barely a year after being drafted. The 6-foot-2 right-hander has tossed 71 big league innings over the past three seasons, posting a 4.31 ERA and 1.54 WHIP with a 48.8% ground-ball rate. He recorded 11 saves in 2025.
Across 21 appearances for Colorado this season, Halvorsen posted a 4.74 ERA and 1.95 WHIP with 17 strikeouts in 19 innings. The Rockies optioned and recalled him three separate times before he landed on the injured list in early July. Through 17.1 Triple-A innings this year, he owns a 2.04 ERA, a 32.4% strikeout rate and a 9.5% walk rate.
Halvorsen is one of the hardest-throwing relievers in baseball, armed with a fastball that regularly reaches triple digits. His arsenal also includes a solid mid-80s slider and low-90s splitter, though he has struggled with command. He joins the Dodgers with five years of club control and two option years remaining, giving them cost-effective bullpen depth with both upside and roster flexibility.
Frasso, 27, is two years removed from being a consensus top-100 prospect. The 6-foot-5 right-hander entered 2024 as the Dodgers’ No. 2 prospect but sat out the entire season recovering from labrum surgery. He has yet to pitch in the major leagues.
In his return to the mound last season, Frasso’s ability to miss bats and throw strikes regressed significantly. He posted a 5.49 ERA and 1.58 WHIP with 68 strikeouts in 77 Triple-A innings, working mostly as a multi-inning reliever. The former starter has rebounded with an impressive 14.6 K/9 rate over 24.2 innings this season, though his walk rate has climbed to 6.2 BB/9.

Vidourek, 22, ranked No. 25 in the Dodgers’ system prior to the trade. The lefty-hitting outfielder was drafted in the third round last season and has drawn praise for his all-around tools and 30-30 upside. He impressed with an .841 OPS over 74 Single-A plate appearances in 2025 but has taken a step back this year, batting .176/.340/.343 through 61 games.
Even after parting with Frasso and Vidourek, the Dodgers remain loaded with promising minor league depth. Los Angeles currently has nine prospects ranked in MLB Pipeline’s Top 100, six of whom are outfielders.
