Tyler Glasnow has always featured the potential of one of the best pitchers in all of MLB. Yet, the 32-year-old has only earned one All-Star appearance in his career. Glasnow made the All-Star team in 2024 with the Los Angeles Dodgers -- his first and only selection despite making his big league debut back in 2016. Underperformance has not been the primary concern, rather it has been Glasnow's injury history.

Glasnow's 22 starts in 2024 were a career-high. He was good once again in 2025, but he only made 18 starts. When healthy, Glasnow is a star. Dave Roberts assessed the right-handed pitcher's spring training performance before the Dodgers' game on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels, via Katie Woo.

"By far the best we've seen," Roberts said of Glasnow's pitching during spring training.

The fact that Roberts thinks Glasnow pitched his best in the spring is encouraging for the upcoming campaign without question. The starting pitcher kept it going on Sunday, recording five innings of one-run baseball while striking out 11 hitters. It was a tremendous final exhibition game for Glasnow ahead of Opening Day.

Huge Season Incoming for Tyler Glasnow?

In all reality, it would not be surprising to see Glasnow pitch well in 2026. As mentioned, he has been consistent for the most part over the years when on the mound. Glasnow has had an ERA in the 3's in each of the past three years.

It has always seemed like he is capable of more, though. Glasnow is almost guaranteed to strike out 200 hitters if he ever pitches a full season. He has some of the best overall stuff in the game.

Despite being limited to just 90.1 innings pitched a season ago, Glasnow still managed to strike out 106 batters. In 2024, Glasnow recorded 168 strikeouts across 134 innings of work.

During the 2025 campaign, Glasnow ranked in the 87th percentile in strikeout percentage. He was in the 95th percentile in 2024.

So, will Tyler Glasnow have a huge season in 2026? If he stays healthy, there is reason to believe that Glasnow will have his best MLB season yet. In a sense, a Cy Young-caliber campaign would be a breakout year for Glasnow even though he is already known around the MLB world.

The Dodgers will begin their 2026 season on Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks at 8:30 PM EST.
