Los Angeles Dodgersfirst basemanFreddie Freeman has continued to perform despite being in his age-36 season. Across 111 games this year, he has posted a .310 batting average, .385 on-base percentage, .871 OPS, 15 home runs and 54 RBIs.
Freeman has gotten off to a strong start at the plate in August, yet unfortunately it has not mattered much as the Dodgers still have not won a game this month.
Los Angeles is not in danger of missing out on postseason play, but they are in danger of having to play in the National League wild card series as the Atlanta Braves close in on the second seed in the NL.

With pressure starting to build, the Dodgers need Freeman in the lineup every day. During Wednesday's series finale against the Chicago Cubs, not only did Los Angeles lose to extend their losing streak to six games, but Freeman exited the game early with an apparent injury.
During his final at-bat, Freeman fouled a ball off the knob of his bat. Although it fortunately avoided hitting his wrist directly, the vibration can still cause damage. He was removed from the game with Enrique Hernandez replacing him at first base, indicating he may have suffered a setback.
Fortunately, that was not the case. After the game, manager Dave Roberts provided the latest update on Freeman's condition, revealing that Freeman underwent X-rays that came back negative (h/t Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic).
He is expected to return to the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
With October getting closer, this is a huge sigh of relief for the organization. Had Freeman gone down, the Dodgers are also currently without Dalton Rushing to provide depth at first base, as he is currently on the 10-day injured list, leaving them thin at the position.
