DiJonai Carrington is back on social media this week.
The Chicago Sky guard promptly took to social media after she was ejected from Saturday's loss to the Indiana Fever. Carrington was hit with a Flagrant 2 foul and tossed from her team's game against the Indiana Fever, after she fouled Sophie Cunningham pretty hard in the neck area. The foul was initially called a Flagrant 1, before it got upgraded to a Flagrant 2, which earned the ejection.
Carrington posted "white privilege" on social media, tagging the Indiana Fever, after her ejection. Naturally, fans took that comment as Carrington blaming race for her ejection. She is Black, while Cunningham is white. However, Carrington says that is not the case.

Carrington, bragging about her collegiate education, says that she was not implying that race had anything to do with her foul call or ejection.
"I’ve never once claimed that the assessment of the foul was white privilege (that was your assumption). Try exercising your critical thinking skills, I know you studied psych. Furthermore, I’m the LAST thing from ignorant or asinine when it comes to speaking on “white privilege”, do ya research on that one. I actually went to school, one of the top universities might I add, to educate myself on this exact subject. I would never use that term as a rhetorical weapon knowing the historical and social weight it holds without having the proper evidence to substantiate it," she wrote.
Carrington played college basketball for Stanford and Baylor before being drafted 20th overall by the Connecticut Sun in the 2021 WNBA draft.
WNBA fans still want to know what Carrington meant, though
Fans would still like to know what Carrington meant with her tweet, if she wasn't talking about the foul call.
"We all know what you meant and because you are being called out on it, you are backtracking. What a fraud," one fan wrote.
"You can’t say this and not explain why you said," one fan added.
"Well...what did you mean, then?" another wrote.
Former ESPN anchor Linda Cohn shared: "At least you have a fan in Fever Head Coach Stephanie White."
White faced a lot of heat online for appearing to defend Carrington's style of play in a postgame press conference.
One thing is clear, though: the WNBA is not lacking in drama right now.
