Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark impressed in the team’s Game 2 win over the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday. She exploded for 27 points on 5-of-11 shooting from deep, along with seven rebounds and 15 assists.
Clark made history in the process, becoming the first player to record at least 25 points and 15 assists in a playoff game. She also broke Tamika Catchings’ franchise record for the most assists in a postseason game.
The Fever All-Star received plenty of praise following her incredible performance in Game 2. Among those who commended Clark was legendary college basketball announcer Dick Vitale, who even made a bold declaration about the Indiana guard.
Vitale called Clark the “best all-around offensive” point guard in the WNBA because of her ability to score, shoot the ball from deep and make plays for her teammates.

“No doubt that the best all around offensive PG in the @WNBA is @IndianaFever guard @CaitlinClark22 – she can score – shoot the 3 ball & pass THE ROCK better than any guard in the league!” Vitale wrote on social media.
Considering Clark’s production, Vitale’s statement certainly has merit. It’s worth noting that the 24-year-old playmaker finished the regular season third in scoring (22.3 points) and second in assists (8.3). It was the first time in league history that a player finished in the top three in both categories.
Through two games in the playoffs, Clark has also been the focal point of Indiana’s offense. ESPN noted that the Fever have shot 25-of-31 off her passes.
