Deshaun Watson appears to be in line to start at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns this fall.
The former Houston Texans quarterback, who the Browns traded for ahead of the 2022 season, has been riddled with injuries and off-the-field controversies since landing in Cleveland. However, he appears to be finally healthy and rid of off-the-field controversy (current ones, anyway) ahead of the 2026 NFL season.
But he’s now feuding with Browns fans.
Wednesday afternoon, Watson was asked if he’s given any thought to how Browns fans will react to seeing him on the field. He made it clear that he doesn’t care.

Watson was asked by Browns reporters if he’s given any thought to the fan reaction he’ll receive.
“I don’t care,” he said.
Browns fans aren’t very happy with that answer
“Has an NFL team ever had to actively guard against its fans booing its Week 1 starter?” one fan wrote.
“lol HOW DO YOU GUYS CHEER FOR THIS LOSER,” one fan added.
“Rather him say this than say something that’ll just make the situation worse than it already is,” one fan added.
“Yeah, loser, we are quite aware that you don’t care about much of anything but yourself,” one fan added.
“He has 230 million reasons to not care,” one fan added.
“Why would he care? He only came here because the Browns wrote him a blank check to play 1 full season in 5yrs,” another fan added.
It’s not exactly the kind of quarterback-fan base relationship that you’d want heading into an NFL season, but right now, it’s all the Cleveland Browns have got.
