Dawn Staley showed up to the NCAA Women's National Title Game in style on Sunday afternoon.
The No. 1 seed South Carolina Gamecocks are set to take on the No. 1 seed UCLA Bruins in the national championship game on Sunday afternoon. Staley, who is attempting to win her fourth national championship, showed up in style on Sunday afternoon.
The Greenville News had more on her outfit.
"Staley likes to incorporate designer brands into her basketball-related outfits. While the Gamecocks (36-3) are playing UCLA (36-1) on April 5 (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC)," they reported.
"Staley is wearing a Balenciaga jacket that's from the brand's 'Basketball Series.' The black Balenciaga jacket says the brand's name with '01' in white letters on the front. Staley is wearing black pants and the same garnet shoes she's worn for every March Madness game this postseason."
The jacket is currently available on GRAILED for $2,333.
Staley could be wearing more Nike next year, too.
"While Staley typically wears designer brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga, she also mixes in outfits that just relate to the school colors," the Greenville News added.
"Beginning next basketball season, South Carolina will swap from Under Armour to Nike as it will be the official uniform supplier for the university starting July 1."
Staley is laser focused on the national title game
While Staley and UConn head coach Geno Auriemma got into a public spat on Friday night, she's ultimately just focused on Sunday's game.
"That's a little disheartening," Staley said of the incident. "At the same time, this is sports. Sometimes things like this happen. That's why I'm just going to continue to focus on our team and their ability to advance in this tournament, hopefully win another national championship."
Auriemma, meanwhile, apologized for his behavior.
"There's no excuse for how I handled the end of the game vs. South Carolina," Auriemma said in a statement issued through the school. "It's unlike what I do and what our standard is here at Connecticut. I want to apologize to the staff and the team at South Carolina. It was uncalled for in how I reacted. The story should be how well South Carolina played, and I don't want my actions to detract from that. I've had a great relationship with their staff, and I sincerely want to apologize to them."
