Kylian Mbappe powered France to a 3-0 victory over Iraq, securing a spot in the knockout stage for the 2018 World Cup champions.
The Real Madrid forward scored his second brace of the tournament after netting twice against Senegal in the opening match.
The 27-year-old, considered one of the best soccer players of his generation, is coming off a disappointing season with Real Madrid, which has now gone trophyless for two consecutive seasons.
While it doesn't appear that the Frenchman will be leaving Spain anytime soon, Mbappe’s meeting with former Galactico David Beckham has raised a few eyebrows.
Mbappe on a Future in MLS
Mbappe and the French squad are currently in Boston, Massachusetts, which serves as the team's base during the ongoing World Cup.
Speaking to the media, the former PSG forward discussed the possibility of a move to the United States, highlighting the country's culture and the limitless ambition that drives people there.
He also revealed that Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham has spoken to him about the possibility of playing in MLS one day, hinting that a move to the United States could be part of his future.
"The United States has a different culture than ours. I've always loved this culture where ambition knows no bounds. Will I come here before the end of my career? Maybe, I don't know," he said before adding with a smile. "David [Beckham] talks to me about it."

While Mbappé appears to be keeping his options open regarding his future, the Frenchman also stressed that he does not make long-term plans and does not see himself playing into his late 30s or 40s like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
"I won’t be here at 40; they’ll have kicked me out before then," he said. "I don’t make long-term plans. I want to enjoy this World Cup."
