The back-to-back World Series winning Los Angeles Dodgers have been struggling as of late.
The team just snapped a seven-game losing streak on Saturday, which was only the second time in the past nine seasons.
A big piece that has been missing for the Dodgers is Shohei Ohtani.
Ohtani, of course, is killing it in the batters box, hitting to a 1.024 OPS in his last 15 games.
But Los Angeles is missing out of the other half of Ohtani, being his pitching side.
The four-time MVP is currently dealing with a left knee injury and minor right biceps discomfort which caused the Dodgers to shut him down from pitching.
He has not pitched in a game since July 3.
On Sunday, Dodgers' manager Dave Roberts revealed that Ohtani is expected to play catch on Monday, but there is no timeline for when Ohtani might throw a bullpen session.
Before the injury, the six-time All-Star posted a 1.79 ERA with 95 strikeouts, 26 walks and a 0.95 WHIP in 85 2/3 innings across 14 starts. He was pitching at a Cy Young level.
If Ohtani feels good following playing catch on Monday, the Dodgers could have a more clear timeline of when he will be able to return to pitching.
