Dave Portnoy is as big of a New England Patriots fan as there is.
The Barstool Sports founder infamously went to jail over the Tom Brady, Deflategate scandal. Portnoy and three of his Barstool Sports employees handcuffed themselves together at the NFL's headquarters in New York City, ultimately spending a night in jail because of it. Portnoy has gotten to witness six Super Bowl championships for the Patriots while building up Barstool.
Tom Brady, of course, is a major part of that.
However, the former NFL quarterback turned broadcaster has behaved quite oddly in retirement, especially in recent years. He's grown close with Fanatics owner Michael Rubin and he's been a part of several odd stunts at promotional events, including ones recently with Logan Paul.
Brady and Paul had a clearly staged, fake slap at Fanatics Fest over the weekend.
Then, at the World Cup Final on Sunday afternoon, Brady and Paul were seen flipping each other off inside of the stadium.
Why is Brady participating in a fake, staged feud with a glorified YouTuber? Is he that starved for attention in retirement?
Portnoy thinks he's ruining his legacy
The Barstool Sports founder took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to beg Brady to get as far away from Michael Rubin as possible, before his entire legacy is ruined.
"Can somebody please shake Tom Brady and tell him to get as far away from Michael Rubin as possible and stop lamifying his entire legacy," he warned on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Portnoy certainly isn't alone in feeling this way. However, when it comes to Brady, he might be too far gone at this point. The seven-time Super Bowl champion is clearly obsessed with attention and when you're participating in fake stunts with Logan Paul, that's probably it for you.
