Danica Patrick has taken a side.
Earlier this week, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers appeared on "The Pat McAfee Show." The 42-year-old NFL quarterback trashed Dr. Anthony Fauci, who had taken the fifth while appearing before U.S. Congress earlier this summer.
"I'm gonna plead the 5th. Like that absolute coward Tony Fauci. Absolute coward. Are you kidding me? What are you scared of Tony? I thought you were science?" Rodgers said.
Rodgers, who told the media he had been "immunized" during the COVID-19 pandemic, did actually not get vaccinated. However, he continues to say that he didn't lie or mislead reporters.
"First of all, I didn't lie in the initial press conference," Rodgers said earlier that season. "During that time, it was a witch hunt that was going on across the league, where everybody in the media was so concerned about who was vaccinated and who wasn't and what that meant and who was being selfish and who would talk about it, what it meant if they said it's a personal decision and they shouldn't have to disclose their own medical information.
"And at the time, my plan was to say that I have been immunized. It wasn't some sort of ruse or lie. It was the truth, and I'll get into the whole immunization in a second. But had there been a follow-up to my statement that I've been immunized, I would have responded with this: I would have said, 'Look, I'm not some sort of anti-vax, flat-Earther. I am somebody who's a critical thinker.'"

ESPN.
Rodgers seems to feel vindicated now, though, as Dr. Fauci is facing questioning and ridicule from some.
Dr. Fauci's lawyer, meanwhile, fired back at the veteran NFL quarterback this week.
David Schertler, Fauci’s attorney, told Rodgers to stick to sports.
"Aaron Rodgers doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He should stick to football," Schertler said to The Athletic.
Danica Patrick takes Rodgers' side
While Patrick and Rodgers had a fairly ugly breakup, the former NASCAR and IndyCar driver is taking the quarterback's side in his feud with Dr. Fauci.
"(Expletive) ---hole," she called Fauci as the U.S. doctor continues to go viral on social media this week.
Patrick and Rodgers might have had an ugly breakup, but they appear to be aligned on this, at least.
