Washington Commanders coach Dan Quinn is well aware of the narrative surrounding star quarterback Jayden Daniels.
Unfortunately, Daniels suffered a gruesome elbow injury at the end of the first half of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Although the Pro Bowl quarterback was down on the ground in pain, all of his offensive linemen walked off the field as if there was nothing wrong. That led to people questioning if there’s friction in the locker room.
“His whole offensive line takes a glance, shows little concern, and just walks off to the locker room. Terrible look,” one NFL fan wrote on X.
“I have a feeling Jaden Daniels hasn’t really done much to endear himself to his teammates,” another fan said.
During this Wednesday’s media availability, Quinn shot down the idea that Daniels isn’t respected by his teammates.
“It’s just the opposite — they were gutted,” Quinn told reporters. “They love the guy.”

How long will Jayden Daniels be out?
As of this moment, the Commanders don’t have a timeline for Daniels’ recovery. That’s because the former No. 2 pick is seeing another specialist.
“I’m not going to assume on the timeline,” Quinn said. “Once I know, I’ll share it with you to go. But I think just for me to say, this many weeks or not, I’d rather wait on that and let’s get all the info. But that said, I’d also say, yeah, we have a lot of confidence in what we do and what we’ve been doing. … But as far as a timeline, or what, or who else to add, we’ll wait on that.”
Hopefully, the Commanders will get Daniels back this season. Until then, it’ll be Marcus Mariota running the offense.
