Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid scared Bills fans during an 11-on-11 practice rep at training camp on Monday. The scare turned out to be less serious than it initially appeared. Kincaid later humorously addressed the event as a shot to the "family jewels," giving them a sense of relief ahead of his fourth season.
The 26-year-old had a strong day during the Bills' fourth practice session, held at St. John Fisher University. However, the tight end went down during 11-on-11 red-zone drills near the goal line while quarterback Josh Allen threw a touchdown pass to Khalil Shakir. A few moments later, Kincaid was seen limping off the field with Buffalo Bills' training staff.
Dalton Kincaid removed his helmet and spent several minutes speaking with the staff behind the field. While sharing an update on his condition, the Bills tight end stated:
"Doing good. It was a family jewels shot. The knee is all good. It was a knee to the family jewels. Just a few minutes of pain."
Kincaid sat the remaining 11-on-11 drills out and rejoined the field during the walkthrough drills. The scene initially sparked concerns among fans, recalling similar injuries he sustained in his first three NFL seasons. He missed multiple training camp practices due to a knee injury in 2025. He even declined surgery on his torn PCL this past offseason.

The Buffalo Bills tight endmissed nine games over the last two seasons before returning to training camp healthy. Bills general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Joe Brady also praised Kincaid for his conditioning. Brady stated:
"Dalton had such a great offseason. Conditioning test, knocked it out of the park. Great place. Excited to get him in training camp."
Brandon Beane also claimed that the organization "believes in Dalton" and the 26-year-old looked "chiseled" as he began training camp. The general manager also emphasized the importance of keeping Kincaid healthy this season.
Quarterback Josh Allen commented:
"He's been fantastic for us the last couple of years. I feel like he gets better each and every year. He's flying around. It's awesome to see."
In 2023, Dalton Kincaid recorded 73 receptions for 673 yards. He continued to record 44 receptions for 448 yards and two touchdowns in 2024. He followed with 39 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns in his last season. Given Kincaid's record and primary role on offense, the scare proved to be a relief for the Bills heading into the new season.
