Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tyler Booker could face a fine for his foul on Green Bay Packers safety Javon Bullard in Week 6.
The Cowboys suffered their fourth loss of the season, falling 23-13 to the Packers on Sunday at Lambeau Field.
Dallas star quarterback Dak Prescott led the offense, completing 34 of 54 passes for 258 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. But it wasn’t enough to carry the Cowboys to victory.
After another loss, the team now awaits the league’s decision on offensive lineman Booker, who was called for unnecessary roughness during the game.
The play happened late in the fourth quarter, when the Cowboys converted on fourth-and-5 via a Ryan Flournoy completion.
But as the play ended, Booker charged Packers safety Bullard from behind and knocked him to the ground. Officials immediately flagged it as unnecessary roughness, as replays show Booker making contact well after the action had stopped.
This resulted in an automatic 15-yard penalty against the Cowboys.
Under the 2026 NFL rulebook, unnecessary roughness covers “unnecessarily running, diving into, cutting, or throwing the body against or on a player who (1) is out of the play or (2) should not have reasonably anticipated such contact by an opponent, before or after the ball is dead.”
The NFL will now review the incident to determine if Booker’s foul warrants a fine. For context, he could potentially be fined $11,941 for a late hit (first offense), per the league’s fines schedule. The fine increases to $17,911 for a second offense.
The 22-year-old Alabama product will wait for the NFL’s punishment decision, typically announced in the weekly accountability report.
The Cowboys are now preparing for their Week 7 game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday night.
