Former NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. isn’t a huge fan of the NFL at the moment.
The NFL fined San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk for “engaging in offensive demonstrations” on the field during last Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. He was accused of pretending to chug a beer, which violates Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1.
Juszczyk has already appealed this $14,926 fine, telling ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “I don’t even drink beer.”
Clearly, the NFL is cracking down on players pretending to chug a beer. Indianapolis Colts offensive guard Matt Goncalves was fined $8,847 for engaging in an “offensive demonstration” Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Your imitation of chugging a beer constituted an offensive demonstration…in poor taste,” the NFL told Goncalves.
After reading about the fines Goncalves and Juszczyk received, Earnhardt Jr. posted this message online: “What are we doing?”

Ja’Marr Chase calls out the NFL.
Cincinnati Bengals star Ja’Marr Chase was fined this week for imitating The Rock’s iconic “People’s Elbow” celebration in the end zone. While speaking to the media Thursday, he ripped the NFL for not letting the players have any fun.
“This is where the superstars have to get in with NFLPA and fight for our money,” Chase said. “I’m getting fined for an elbow and doing a first-down thing. We can’t even tweet about it because we get fined for tweeting about it.”
Hopefully, the NFL tones down the fines specifically for touchdown celebrations.
