Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are in the middle of their 2026 training camp in Oxnard, California. Dallas hosted Cowboys Back Together Saturday and the Opening Ceremony, featuring speeches and a large public practice celebrating the opening of camp.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer returns for a second season after leading the Cowboys to a 7-9-1 record last season. Quarterback Dak Prescott led the second-highest total offense in 2025, with the 33-year-old finishing third in the league with 4,552 passing yards and fourth with 30 touchdowns. With All-Pro receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens returning, team president Jerry Jones has high expectations for his Cowboys this year.

On Monday, Dallas may have suffered a setback toward that goal. During the Cowboys' training camp practice, tight end Princeton Fant was carted off the field after apparently suffering a left knee injury. The injury occurred when Fant collided knees with running back Israel Abanikanda during Dallas' first padded practice of training camp. The Tennessee native has been scheduled for an MRI to determine the extent of the injury.
The La Vergne High School graduate is in his third season with the Cowboys, having first signed as an undrafted free agent in 2023. The 6-foot-2 tight end has spent time on the Dallas practice squad after being waived and re-signed multiple times. The 27-year-old has appeared in nine games for the Cowboys, recording two tackles on special teams.

Dallas will open the 2026 NFL regular season on the road at MetLife Stadium against the New York Giants on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 8:20 p.m. ET.
