It's been several months since Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott broke up with his fiancee Sarah Jane Ramos following several years and two children together. And while Dak doesn't owe anyone an explanation, he had some comments on his breakup.
Per Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News, Prescott spoke about the end of his engagement and called it "an unfortunate situation" for him and their children. He said that there were a lot of "false narratives" circulating from both his side and Ramos' side.
"Yeah, I mean, I don't necessarily think it was public to me. Once again, I believe what you take in, what you read, what you look up, you're doing that to yourself," Prescott said.
"There were a lot of false narratives out there on both of our sides. That was very unfortunate, unfortunate for me, but somebody who's been in it and knows how to whatever to the media more to me and fortunate for her, but it's kind of life we live in...
"Yeah, it was an unfortunate situation for obviously everybody. More importantly, the kids. And so for me, it's just about making sure I'm there in every which way for them.”
One of the narratives that circulated was that Ramos refused to sign a prenup before marrying Prescott. TMZ reported that this was not true.
The outlet reported that Prescott and Ramos are "hellbent" on co-parenting their children while remaining in each other's lives. But their sources also stated that there is "no shot at getting back together."
The Cowboys in 2026
2026 is looking to be a pretty important year for the Cowboys. Dak is 33 now and likely has more good football years behind him than in front of him. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have done their usual tweaking to their roster with a slew of one-year deals and trades, most of which were aimed at improving their historically bad defense from last season.
The offense looked just fine last year under first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer and despite their terrible defense the team went 7-9-1.
But if the team isn't back in the playoffs and looking like Super Bowl contenders soon, there are likely to be far bigger changes made this time next year.
