Pete Crow-Armstrong has led the Chicago Cubs to a 49-38 record, good enough for second in the National League Central behind the 53-32 Milwaukee Brewers. After being selected by the New York Mets with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft, Crow-Armstrong was sent to Chicago at the 2021 trade deadline as part of the Javier Báez trade.
The center fielder is currently third in the league in WAR at 5.1, trailing only the Los Angeles Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani (5.4) and the Philadelphia Phillies' starting pitcher Cristopher Sánchez (5.8). The Harvard-Westlake High School graduate was dominant during June, helping lead the Cubs to a 17-10 record for the month.

During the month, the 24-year-old had 40 hits in 105 at-bats, good enough for a .381 batting average. Along with the 11 home runs he blasted, the left-handed hitter had five doubles, two triples, 20 RBIs, 21 runs scored, eight stolen bases and an absurd 1.249 OPS. With the California native's fantastic month of June, MLB decided to make an announcement related to his play.
Major League Baseball announced that Crow-Armstrong won the NL Player of the Month Award for June, with Junior Caminero of the Tampa Bay Rays winning the American League award. The Cubs went to social media to celebrate PCA and the MLB's recognition.
In a post on X, Chicago posted a graphic of Crow-Armstrong denoting his Player of the Month Award, along with his batting average, OBP (.468), HR, RBI and SLG (.781). Chicago also spelled out the months from April through August but replaced June with "PCA."
"APRIL MAY PCA JULY AUGUST," the Cubs wrote on X.
Chicago will start a three-game homestand against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday at 4:05 p.m. ET.
