After dropping the first game of the 2026 season to the New York Giants, the Dallas Cowboys bounced back with a dominant 37-20 Week 2 victory over the Washington Commanders.
The Cowboys now sit at 1-1 heading into their Week 3 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. Before looking ahead to that game though, let’s look at how Dallas is being viewed after two weeks of action. Here is a roundup and review of some national NFL power rankings and where the Cowboys stand in each.

What National Pundits Are Saying About the Cowboys After Two Weeks
Dallas’ defense struggled mightily in Week 1 against New York, but it the unit turned in a better performance against Washington, as noted by Pete Prisco of CBS Sports.
“The offense impressed in the blowout of the Commanders. But the best news is the defense made strides after a bad opener,” Prisco wrote.
Star quarterback Dak Prescott has received credit for how well he’s played personally through the first two weeks of the season.
“Through two games, Prescott is completing 73.8% of his passes, and he has been able to escape harm with his legs, too,” ESPN’s Todd Archer noted. “He has six touchdown passes and one interception, but the one giveaway shows the Cowboys’ thin margin for error.”
Prescott is going to have to continue playing at an elite level if the Cowboys are going to avoid missing out on the playoffs for a third straight season.
Cowboys Will Face a Tough Test in Ravens in Week 3
Things won’t get any easier for the Cowboys heading into the third week of the season, as they’ll host the Baltimore Ravens, who are fresh off of an underwhelming loss to the New Orleans Saints.
The Ravens scored 41 points against Indianapolis in the season opener, but mustered just 17 points against the Saints. They’ll be looking to get back on the right track against Dallas, so the Cowboys will have their hands full on both sides of the ball. Neither team will want to fall to 1-2 on the season.
